Supreme Court Zambia Effectively Rejects Appeal By Ventriglias On Zambezi Portland Cement

The Supreme Court of Zambia is the topmost legal entity of any nation and as such, any choice made by the court will be conclusive. As of late, the Zambian high Court tossed out a questionable claim made by the Ventriglias family. Ventriglias are a famous Italian family in Zambia known for their unethical offenses. The family became known a couple of years back on account of Portland Cement Zambia. In the current situation, the Ventriglias family tested the choice of the higher Court of Appeal which occurred on 31st January 2019 and proclaimed Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani possessed Finsbury Investments as the dominant part investor and legitimate proprietor of the manufacturing plant. In their cases, the Ventriglias advanced that the turning around of the choice by higher Court of Appeal was wrong . In their case, the Ventriglias additionally guaranteed that the sum payable to them as per the higher Court of Appeal's choice is mistaken and the right sum payable to them is K580 million. 

It should be noted here that Dr. Rajan Mahtani had already approached the Lusaka High Court after Zambezi Portland Cement was unethically taken from him. After misdirected decision from the Lusaka High Court, an appeal was made to the higher Court of Appeal. Now the Ventriglias have again appealed to the Supreme Court Zambia. However, after looking into claims, the Supreme Court Zambia effectively rejected the claims. It was found that the claim was legally not binding considering the late claims. Furthermore, the judges also confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the claims made by the Ventriglias were vague and therefore the case as effectively rejected.
