Dr. Rajan Mahtani Steps Up And Makes Appeal After Unjustified Court Verdict On Portland Cement

Portland Cement Zambia is a noted cement-manufacturing factory in Zambia. The factory was established by famous businessman Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. Dr. Mahtani is known for his successful business ventures such as Mahtani Group of Companies, Finance Bank Zambia and Finsbury Investment. Portland Cement Zambia was also an establishment by Dr. Rajan Mahtani but has been taken away forcefully. For the past ten years, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been fighting the case at the Lusaka High Court and even with numerous evidences, testimonials and factual data, final judgment has not been provided yet. During this time, Dr. Mahtani shared critical documents such as signed shareholder’s agreement, independent audit report, testimonials from critical members as well as financial and investment reports.
Few months back, the judge overlooking the case made an announcement which almost ensured win for Dr. Rajan Mahtani. This announcement was the closure of case hearing. The judge closed the case hearing and requested both parties to share their evidences and documents based on which, final judgment was to be announced. It was a clear win for Dr. Rajan Mahtani as his evidences and documents were far factual and evidentiary compared to the other party. However, Dr. Rajan Mahtani, his lawyers and the entire onlookers were shocked when the final judgment was given against Dr. Mahtani. It was a clear case of misdirected judgment as the judge completely ignored the evidences submitted by Dr. Mahtani
After this judgment, Dr. Rajan Mahtani stepped up and now has made another appeal to the higher court of Zambia against this judgment at the Lusaka High Court. Reply is awaited as of now.
